Dear Parents and Carers
A reminder that our final P&F Meeting for the year will be held on Monday night from 5:45pm. Thank you to the many parents that have offered their time throughout the year to support the P&F fundraising process. We look forward to sharing the final results of the School Fair with you all shortly.
FR DONNELLY'S 90th BIRTHDAY: Today marks a very special day for our Parish Priest, Fr Leo Donnelly. Fr D celebrates his 90th Birthday today! A Parish gathering was held at Newman Senior Technical College last night and it will also be celebrated at a special Mass at 9:00am Sunday. This will be followed by a morning tea. Some of our children have been involved.
PARISH CHRISTMAS HAMPERS - OUT OF UNIFORM DAY: Thank you to all our generous families who sent in items today for our Parish Hampers. This is a great way to contribute to the Parish during this special time of the year and to reflect on those less fortunate than we are over the Christmas period. If you are available to assist with the delivery of the hampers on Sunday 3 December, please call the Presbytery on 6583 1024. Many thanks to Bunnings who have, once again, very generously donated 30 plastic washing baskets for the packing of the hamper items. We will need assistance between Monday 27 November and Wednesday 29 November to help pack the hampers before they go to the Parish. If you are able to provide some time on any of these days, please contact the Office.
PARISH MUSIC MINISTRY: A big thank you to the children that joined us for the Youth and Family Mass on Sunday last week. As we move towards the end of the year, I would like to thank all children who have been involved this year. A huge thanks to the staff who have always coordinated: Mr Matt Bushe, Mrs Pam Burns and Mrs Christy Ismay. Thank you to Mrs Jessica Stewart who has also supported the choir. We thank the greater staff for always showing support of the children for this special Parish contribution.
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION: The children had a wonderful time on Monday this week joining with the Kindergarten 2018 group. We would like to announce that Kindergarten Teachers for 2018 will be: Mrs Robyn McCartney, Mr Krysten Jones, Mrs Lisa James (Working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Mrs Lucy Welsh (Working Thursday and Friday). Miss Elise Campbell will continue in her role as Teacher Assistant for Kindergarten. We look forward to this wonderful team in 2018 and can't wait to hear some great stories throughout the year.
REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY: A big thank you to our School Captains Sophie and Liam for joining me at the Remembrance Ceremony at Town Green on Saturday morning. They were wonderful ambassadors for our school and wore their uniform with pride.
PARENT TALK - COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC SCHOOL PARENTS: This newsletter has been included at the end of our newsletter this week. It has some great stories for parents to read about.
LATE ARRIVALS AND EARLY DEPARTURES: We are currently experiencing high numbers of children arriving late or leaving early. A reminder that all children should be attending school during the hours of 8:55am and 3:10pm to meet the legal requirement from the government. Staff have requested that we minimise interruptions to the classroom, therefore, the Office staff will no longer be able to call the classroom for your child. If you need to collect your child early from school, a new process began last week. Parents will be asked to sign in at the front office and then proceed to the classroom, return to the office and sign out. We thank you for your cooperation with this and hopefully we will all aim to have the children present for the full day as much as possible.
ARE YOU MOVING FROM PORT MACQUARIE?: We currently have a large amount of requests for enrolment in 2018. If you know that your child won't be returning to St Agnes' next year, can you please let us know as soon as possible. Your assistance in this regard is much appreciated.
PBS WINNERS: We congratulate this week's PBS winners:- Tallara Duck, Max Hanley, Dylan Keane, Antonia McEntrye, Toby Verdon, Mikayla Walsh, Jaysen Wei and Scarlett Whitling.
